Hillary started Fairchild Educational Services in the spring of 2011 as she realized her true passion is helping students of all ages reach their full academic potential. Hillary enjoys the process of getting to know her students and finding a system of learning that works for them. Each student is an individual and, with Hillary, each student can learn skills to excel in all areas of their lives. Hillary attended Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia and graduated with a double major in History and Romance Languages. Her love of languages led to international study abroad experiences in Sevilla, Spain and Paris, France. After Bryn Mawr, Hillary attended the prestigious Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University for her Master's Degree and made the Washington, DC area her home. Hillary began tutoring in the fall of 2001 when several of her horseback riding "kids" needed help with school work. This led to a full time teaching position at St. John's Episcopal School in January of 2003. As the full time Middle School Spanish teacher, Hillary was able to share her love of languages with countless students in the fifth through eighth grades as well as developing a small but successful tutoring business. As Hillary realized the growing need for her skill set in tutoring and test prep, she decided it was time to go at it alone, and Fairchild Educational Services was born. When Hillary isn't tutoring she can be found spending time with her sons, Sean and Declan, and her husband Mike. Together they enjoy trips to the farm to visit Hillary's horses, running, swimming and traveling.
Ellen, Hillary’s right hand woman, has been teaching in one form or another since she was 16, when she taught her first horseback riding lesson. She attended Wilson College in PA, where she majored in English and Equestrian Studies. Prior to joining Fairchild, she worked as a legal assistant. She is also a horseback riding instructor. When not working or at a horse show, Ellen is usually hanging out with her dog or running off to New York to see a show.
